MFT Teasers - Day 1

For the past few weeks I have been basking in the glory of having won a coveted guest designer spot with My Favorite Things and today is the day that we kick off the 7 days of teasers of the May release!  This release is PACKED with new stamps and Die-Namics that will be released on May 7th at 10:00 PM EST in the MFT Boutique!

First up is a little somethin' somethin' I made featuring the new
Pure Innocence Make a Wish stamp set!

How sweet is she?!?!  I colored her with copics and paper pieced her dress. The sentiment strip and that pretty little flower was made using some dies from the new Die-Namics Blueprints 3 and that border is one of the dies from the new Dotted Scalloped Border Trio Die-Namics!

Here is a close up and a list of the copics I used:

skin - E11, E21, E00, E000, R20, R30
hair - E47. E37, E35, E53
dress and shoes - E47, E44, E43

I also have a couple of projects to show you that I made with the new "Peaceful Wildflowers" stamp set designed by Lisa Johnson and the coordinating Die-Namics!

Ahhhhh!  So pretty!   This card also features the new Die-Namics vertical frame and the new red hot ink!  I die cut the flowers and then stamped the images onto the die cuts.  I popped some of the flowers up with foam dots to add dimension.

Here's a close up:

Have you ever tried making a hand stamped candle?  It's so easy and the Peaceful Wildflowers set is perfect for making spring time candles!

All you need is a candle, some tissue paper, some wax paper, and heating tool.
I cut a piece of tissue paper to fit around the candle.  I recommend leaving at least 1/4 of inch space between the top and the bottom of the candle.  Stamp your images directly on to the tissue paper.  The ink will bleed through so protect your work surface.  Wrap the tissue paper around the candle.  Now wrap some wax paper tightly around the candle and make sure you cut a piece long enough so that you have something to grab to keep the candle tightly wrapped.   Holding the candle  in one hand, move the heating tool back and forth in a steady motion over one section at a time,  You will see the tissue paper melt into the candle.   Move on to the next section when you do so that you don't overly melt the candle.   You will need to unwrap the wax paper and re-wrap the candle so that you can make your way all around the candle.   That's it!  It's  that simple!  Hand stamped candles make great gifts and you can pair with a coordinating greeting card!

Now head right on over to the MFT Blog for a list of designers participating in today's teasers.  There are prizes up for grabs so be sure to make your way over!
Come back tomorrow for day 2 of teasers!
