Baby Shower Pocket Invitations

I was asked to make invitations for a baby shower.  The couple do not know the sex of the baby. I was told that they went with a yellow and white theme for the nursery so I went with that color scheme for the invitations.

To make the pocket, I started with a 4.25" x 11" piece of PTI harvest gold card stock.  I scored it at 1.25" and 5.5".  I used red sticky tape along the edges to close it. I used my corner chomper to round the edges. Before adhering the flap down, I embossed a 4.25" x 4.25" piece of PTI white card stock using the SU polka dot embossing folder and adhered it to the front of the pocket.  I embellished the flap with a border made from white card stock punched with a SU eyelet border punch and a 3/8" x 4.25 strip of Bo Bunny Mellow Yellow Dot patterned paper.  I stamped "You're invited" (from the SU Blissful Bride stamp set in Momento Tuxedo black.  I used the PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1 die collection to create the flower embellishment. The onesie is from the SU Baby Bundle set and I colored it with copics.

The tag is 3,25" x 4.75".  I rounded the corners with my corner chomper and added a 3/8" strip of coordinating patterned paper.   I added a piece of PTI Harvest Gold bitty dot satin ribbon.

Here's another view:

And for a finishing touch, I used the PTI A2 envelope liner die to line all of the envelopes with matching patterned paper.

While you are in party planning mode, be sure to check out these adorable diaper cakes at ediapercakes.com!  They are over the top beautiful and would make a great gift and / or baby shower centerpiece!

This is one of the neutral ones, but they also have diaper cakes geared for specifically for boys or girls, too!  You can see them all HERE!

cQc78 and FTL133 - Grateful

Color challenges scare me.  I love a good 'ol sketch challenge, but a color challenges give me the deer in headlights look.  I have been admiring Jen's color challenge creations lately over on her blog and since she, too, tells me she was initially scared by color challenges (a phobia she has CLEARLY gotten over), I decided to give it a whirl.  This week's colors on the ColourQ challenge blog were not so scary, so I figured this was a good week to play.  I combined this with the Clean & Simple Stamping Challenge for the week.
Stamps:  MFT Framed Greetings Stamp set  Ink:  SU cholate chip  CS:  SU pink pirouette, certainly celery, crumb cake, early espresso, and white  Tools"  MFT Dienamics rolled flower, sponge, SU sizzlet little leaves  Accessories:  silver brad

Starting in April I will be selling my papercrafted creations in a cute little store near my home.  I have made these pretty little refrigerator magnets before and sold them individually at craft shows and they were a big hit.  I needed to be able to hang them on a hook on my display at the store so I decided to sell them in little packages of three.  I put them in a little plastic bag and created a topper.  I printed the label from my computer.

Make It Monday #7 - Coffee Trio

This week's Make It Monday Challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog is to add color to NON-neutral card stock.   So I decided to use my PTI Warm Happiness Too stamp set and my copics to play along.  How could I pass up a chance to play along with my beloved copics?!  I popped up each of the coffee cups with foam dimensionals.   I haven't made a CAS card in a while.  I had to force myself to step away from the crafting table to avoid adding more, but I am glad I did!

Cupcake Cherrie

I have been cleaning out my crafting space and selling neglected stamp sets.  I have been eyeing way too many things over at PTI than my budget will allow so out with the old to make money for the new!   I also have been wanting to beef up my copics stash and to start taking Suzanne Dean's online courses.  Got a new bunch o' copics this week and immediately went straight through Suzanne's 1st class.   Yep, wild Friday night!  Even though I had seemingly had a good idea how to work the copics, I still found her first class to be useful. Looking forward to moving up to the more advanced classes now.  You can check out her online classes at Color me Creative Classroom HERE.  If you sign up, mention that I referred you!  Then tell others on your blog to mention you referred them.  You get referral benefits!  Anyway, here is the first image I colored after making my way through the first class.  I inked up this cute by Tickled Pink Stamps called Cupcake Cherrie that I won over one Friday Sketchers and put my copics to work.  Not too shabby, eh?!

Altered Notebook

I made this cute altered notebook for a bithday girl celebrating her 8th birthday.  She loves peace signs so the MFT a la modes Groovy Girl was the perfect image!  I found this compostion notebook on clearance at Target for $1.14.  I covered it with patterned paper from the SEI Granny's Kitchen collection.  I adhered the paper and then used a cutting blade to trim off the excess.  I sanded the edges with a sanding block to smooth it out.  I added some coordinating patterned paper to the inside of the barrel of an RSVP.  You can see a tutorial on how do that at the end of THIS tutorial.  I just looped some ribbon and adhered it to the inside of the back cover to make the pen holder.

I have sat and stared blankly at my crafting supplies for 2 nights in a row.  Nothing.  Tonight I was determined to find my mojo.  Though it took me well over 2 hours to pull something together, I eventually did.  Whew!  The thought of being in a creative rut for 3 days in a row.....oh, the horror! I played along with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge #10 using this super cute MFT Pure Innocence "Making a List" stamp.  I recently saw a color challenge using these colors, but now I forget which one it was.  Oh well!

MFTWSC9 - Get well wishes

Well, I was too late to participate in the Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 71.......which I discovered when I went to link up my card.  Fortunately, I had combined this challenge with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge #9 so I can still link it up there.    I used this cute Pure Innocence digi stamp that I bought on Etsy from Heather Ellis' online shop called DigiStamp Characters.  I got her for only $2.50!  Don't you just love a bargain?!  To do the paper piecing, I simply printed the image again onto patterned paper.  I sponged some SU More Mustard chalk around the image while the image was still in my Nesties die.  I colored the rest of the image with copics and added stickles to the flower centers.  I had some beautiful SU cherry cobbler seam binding left over from the Holidays.  The sentiment is from the SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamps set.
