May SFYTT - Time to Party

Oh my goodness!  I ALMOST missed playing along with the May Sketch for You to Try!    With a just a few hours to spare, I got my card done!  I had decided I was going to play along all year so that I am eligible for the prize at the end of the year.  Not sure how the heck I forgot about this, but so glad I remembered!

I needed to make a card for a co-worker's whose last day of work is tomorrow.  She is going to be home with her kids for the summer, but she first get s 2 whole weeks at home to herself before the kids get out of school so I thought the new MFT a la mode Martini on Me stamp set would be perfect for her goodbye card.

You can't see this in the pic, but I added some Diamond Glaze to both martini glasses so they are glossy.  It looks pretty cool!  I some of my new Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock (LOVE that stuff) in cotton candy, juicy pear, peanut cluster, and licorice twist.  I paired it with some DSP from the October Afternoon Sidewalks 8x8 paper pad. I paper pieced her dress and added some vintage black seam binding to embellish.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge

Have you played along yet with the current All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge?  It's a photo inspiration challenge!

Here's my card using the C.C. Designs Laugh Lines Garden rubber stamp.

I used the MFT Die-Namics wonky scallop border die cut as a template for the clouds and then sponged some Momento summer sky to create the clouds.  I created the grassy hills with some Bazzill Card Shopp juicy pear CS and I sponged the edges with some Momento bamboo leaves ink.  I colored the image with copics and popped her up with foam dimensionals.  I added some paper flowers with silver brad and used a tooth pick as the sign post.  The sentiment is from the There She Goes Garden of Friends stamp set. I matted the image panel with PTI black CS and mounted it on a PTI white CS base.

Here's the inspiration photo:

We hope you will play along with us this week!

Here are a few rules:
Your project must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store.
It will be deleted if not.  Link up with Inlinkz on the blog by June 5th.
Prize for this challenge is 5 C.C. Designs digi stamps of the winners choice.

Now be sure to check out what my talented DT members have created for this challenge!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #66 - vintage or shabby Chic

This week's challenge over on the The Paper Shelter blog is create a vintage or shabby chic project.  Oh, the HORROR!  The last time I made a vintage or shabby chic was.....lets see.......ummmmm.......NEVER!  Talk about taking me outside of my comfort zone!  My style is definitely more of a clean, but not simple style.

So, shabby chic.....we're talking muted colors, distressed and torn edges, definitely some lace or crochet ribbon.  Probably should add a bunch of flowers.  Nope.  Can't do it.  Too much for me.  I settled on added some vintage seam binding and pins and calling it a day.

Here's my card:

I had JUST moved my Prismacolor pencils out of main crafty supplies area and banned them to my storage area due to ongoing neglect.  Sure enough, I had to pull them right back out.  I thought the copics would look too harsh and the Prismacolor pencils would give me a softer look for this card.  I colored up the adorable "In the 20's" image and cut her out with the MFT Die-Namics Oval STAX set 1.  I distressed the edges and sponged some PTI tea dye duo around the edges of the image panel.  I used some DSP from the Prima Nature Garden Collection 6x6 paper pad and distressed the edges of that as well.  I adhered the to a PTI vintage cream panel and then curled up and tore the edges of the DSP a bit.  I added some natural hanging cluny crochet ribbon, some vintage seam binding, and a couple of pins from the Ribbon Carousel. I mounted this onto a PTI sweet blush card stock base.

Come on and play along with us!  Just head on over to the Paper Shelter Blog to link up your creation!  We have some great prizes up for grabs. If you use a TPS image on your creation you have a chance of winning a $20 voucher. If you use another brand of image you are up for a chance of winning three images of your choice.

Be sure to check out what my fellow DT members have cooked up for you this week for some added inspiration!

Today I am playing along with the Retro Sketches #12 challenge using one of my all-time favorite by Lori Designs image called "Lollipop Ella."  Retro Sketches is quickly becoming one of my favorite sketch challenges.  Though those who seem to play along regularly seem to have more of a CAS style, I like to show how my clean and not-so-simple style still works with the sketches!

TSG157 - SURPRISE Birthday Blog Hop for Jessica Knutson!

Happy Birthday to Jessica Knutson!

Jessica is the owner of There She Goes Clear Stamps and today the Trendsetters (past and present) along with some TSG special friends have organized a surprise birthday hop for our friend!

I had the honor of meeting Jessica in Washington back in February when the Ribbon Carousel Crew and the TSG Trendsetters gathered for one crazy crop at her home.  A week later, I was invited to join the Trendsetters and to become a member of her talented design team.  I think she said there was something "magical" about me.  Maybe I made that up.  Nonetheless, I am thrilled to be designing for her!

And so, Jessica, here is my birthday card for you, friend!

I inked the adorable "A Little Treat" stamp set.  I colored it with copics and added some liquid pearls to the cake.  I paired the PTI vintage cream and black CS with some DSP from te MME Blush 6x6 paper pad.  I attached the sentiment with a silver brad.  I used a SU punch to make the awning and I added some black vintage seam binding from the Ribbon Carousel.

I combined Jessica's birthday hop with this week's TSG Challenge which is a sketch.....my favorite kind of challenge!

Here's the sketch:

Enjoy the hop!

SALE AT THE RIBBON CAROUSEL!

A very special someone in Corinna's life is coming home from Afghanistan today after serving our country for the past 8 months so she is celebrating with a BIG sale at the Ribbon Carousel!   No coupon necessary!  Many things have been marked down!

She is now carrying the new Bazzill Card Shoppe 100 lb. smooth cardstock in all of the gorgeous colors! I received my sampler pack and I LOVE this new card stock!  I have only used PTI cardstock which is 110 lb. paper and I was worried that I would notice the difference in weight.  It is SO slight that it does't matter.  The colors are gorgeous and I love the smoothness of the cardstock!  Honestly, I am tired of the shipping delays with PTI, but I felt I had no other option until now.  I am switching over to the new Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock now!

Bazzill Card Shoppe - 25 Sheet pack

AND, if you love you love to color with your Copics like I do, Corinna is now carrying Blending Card by X-Press It in 25 sheet packs which is my absolute favorite for coloring!  The copic ink is so easy to blend on it and I swear it absorbs much less ink!  Love that stuff!
