Time to Celebrate

I typically make a card every night.  For the last 2 nights I just mindlessly shuffled through my stash of stamps and papers, looked online at all the challenges going on, stared at my list of DT work I need to get done for next month.......NOTHIN'.  I hate when that happens.  Tonight started off that way, but I stuck with it and finally pulled together something I like. I am tackling 3 challenges with this card to boot!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Stamps:  Maglnolia Stamps "Tilda with Balloon", sentiment from MFT "Time to Celebrate"  Ink:  Momento tuxedo black  CS:  PTI black, white, pure poppy  DP:  Me & My Big Ideas black and White  Tools:  Nestabilities ovals, copics  Accesories:  A Muse Art Stamps ribbon, black rhinestones, clear Spica pen

Tooth Fairy Tins and BIG NEWS to share!

I have been making these tooth fairy tins for quite a while, but I don't think I've ever posted these here on my blog for some unknown reason.  These are always big sellers for me when I do crafts shows.

I made these using the Whimsie Doodles Tooth Fairy Girl Digital Stamp set that you can find on THIS page of the Whimsie Doodles Store.  I also make a boy version of these using the Tooth Fairy Boy set on the same page.   The great thing about digi stamps is that you can re-size them I did that so the image would fit on the cover of the tin.  I colored the image with copics and added some shimmer to her dress with a clear Spica pen and added some yellow Stickles to the star on her her dress and on her wand.  I also added some crystal Stickles to her wings. The DSP is from PTI polka dot parade paper pad and the CS is PTI white and hibiscus  burst.

And now for my exciting news:

I am so excited to have been invited to be on the Design Team for Whimsie Doodles!  I just love their whimsical digi stamps and have been a fan for quite some time so it is very exciting to now be part of this DT.  I will make my appearance as a new DT member on September 15th for our blog hop.  We will be introducing you to the newest releases so stay tuned!

Sweet Little Mermaid

As soon as I saw Shelby Goolsby's card with that ADORABLE image over on the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog this week, I headed straight over to The Paper Shelter and bought myself some new oh-so-cute digi stamps.  I love to color with my copics and these images are perfect for that!  You will be seeing lots of cards made with those in the very near future!

I am playing along with two challenges with this card.  The sketch is from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #132.  I am also playing along with the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge #149 which has a "In the Sea" theme this week.    I used this sweet image called Beautiful Mermaid and colored her up with copics.  I used a clear Spica pen to add some shimmer to to eye lids, the highlights in her hair, her top and her bottom.

Here is the sketch:

Stamps:  The Paper Shelter's Beautiful Mermaid, sentiment from Verve Thankful Hearts  CS:  PTI aqua mist, lavender moon, and white  DSP:  PTI Distressed Dots  Tools:  copics, clear Spica pen Accessories:  PTI lavender moon button and twine

SSS123 - You're So Sweet

Happy weekend!  It's time for another Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge!  Have I mentioned that I am crazy excited to be part of this DT?!  I've been playing along with this weekly sketch for well over a year and admiring the DT's creations all along.  To be part of this bunch is surreal!

Here is my card for this week's challenge:

Don't you just love that image?!  That is the C.C. Designs Sweet Kiki La Rue digital stamp.  I colored her up with copics and added some clear spica pen to the ice cream and cherry.  I paired it with some DSP from the Echo Park Summer Days 6x6 paper pack and PTI white, harvest gold, and dark chocolate CS.  The sentiment is from the Verve Thankful Accents stamp set.   I embellished with some PTI Harvest Gold ribbon, harvest gold button, raspberry fizz button, and some pink sorbet baker's twine from the Twinery.

Here is the sketch:

Now come and play along with us!
You can use any stamps you'd like so there's no reason not to play!  Be sure to link up your creation on the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog!

Paper and Such Challenge - Farm Animal Challenge

It's time for another Paper and Such Challenge and this time it is to create something with a farm animal.  You can use any brand of stamp to play along.  If you already own some of the Hot Shot images from  Paper and Such's exclusive line of chicken stamps, then you can just ink up one of those funky chickens to play along...........which is what I did!  I chose to ink up Hezzy and decided to go with a little chicken humor this week.

HA!  I heat embossed that funny little sentiment by Inky Antics.  That DSP is some digi paper from the Trixie Scraps Designs Gingham Goodness paper pack.
Here are the copics I used to color the image:

Play along with us for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper and Such Store and a winner's badge to proudly display on your blog!  You will find not only great stamps, but all the hottest designer paper pads, baker's twine from the Twinery in all sorts of colors, and gorgeous ribbon!  Head on over to the Paper and Such Blog  and link up your creations, but first swing by my fellow DT member's blog and show them a little love!

Beach Bums

I made this card for our nanny from the kids.  She is the best thing that has happened to us and my kids had the best summer with her.  She certainly relieved us of much guilt now that my husband and I are both working full-time.  The kids spent lots of time swimming over the summer with her so these cute digis by Whimsie Doodles were perfect for a card for her!

I popped "Leah" up with foam adhesive and added
some Glossy Accents to the goggles.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Picture Perfect Creations#9  - Summertime theme
Saturday Challenge #148 - Create a scene
Stamps R Us - Anything Goes

Update:
This card was chosen as the Grand Winner at Picture Perfect Creations and the winner of the Saturday Challenge #148!

Stamps:  Whimsie Doodles Diving Leah and Diving Koale  CS:  PTI white, black, kraft, hawaiian shores, and aqua mist  Tools:  Taylored Expresions Cloud Duo and Wave Border dies, copics  Accessories:  Glossy Accents, white felt

Pocket Notebooks

This is my 2nd post of the day so if you are here for the Squigglefly challenge card, click HERE or scroll down!

I found these cute little 3" x 5" composition notebooks at Target.  I thought the would be perfect to throw in your  purse so you always have a place to jot something down.

These were ridiculously easy to make.  I just ran some adhesive over the cover with my ATG gun, adhered some patterned paper, and used a blade to trim off the excess paper.   I used the PTI Take Note stamp set which is PERFECT for these little notebooks as well as the PTI double ended banners die.  That DSP is from one of the October Afternoon paper pads, but the cover is missing so I have no idea which one it is.

SFC112 - water works

Time for another Squigglefly challenge!
This week the theme is "Water works!"  You can interpret that any way you want..........an image with water, water coloring, waves, etc.
I chose to use this super cute image by Cheryl Alger called April Shower.

I added some glitter to the stream of water and added some orange Stickles to the centers of the flowers for some added glitz and added some Glossy Accents to the tub, shower head, and watering can.

Now hop on over to the Squigglefly challenge blog to check out my fellow DT members cards for a little inspiration and play along with us!
You can use any image to play along, but to be eligible for the prize you must use a Squigglefly image. Head on over to the shop, or check out our freebies! If you're the winner you get to choose any Squigglefly image (including sets!) as your prize!

Back to School Teacher Treats

I am making some cute post it note holders and pen sets for the kids' teachers for the 1st day of school.  You can see my previous post with a tutorial HERE.  If you are local, I will be selling them on my display at the Little's Block of Shoppes in Georgetown, MA.

I used one of my all time favorite PTI sets Teacher's Apple as well as one of my newest PTI mini stamp sets Tag It's #6.  The DSP is from the Echo Park For the Record Paper Pad and the CS is PTI white and black.  I used a white gel pen to add the faux stitching.  I added a  PTI pure poppy button and some baker's twine for an embellishment.  The "To and from" stamp set is from the SU Patterned Pines stamp set.

And here are a couple more that are non-teacher themed.

This time I used DSP from Webster's Pages Trendsetter / Ladies & Gents. "Notes" is also from the PTI Take Note stamp set.  The flowers are from the Verve Sunny Days stamp set.  That cute little girl is MFT's Pure Innocence Making a List.

SSSC131- I'm baaaaaaa-aaaaack!

We just arrived home last night from a week away in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire.  I suffered extreme separation anxiety from my stamping supplies!  While I loved my vacation, I will NOT go away again without packing some crafting supplies.  I had no idea what to do with myself on the quiet, peaceful mornings while I was wide awake and my family was sleeping soundly.  Perfect crafting times wasted!  Oh, the horror!

Anyway, I am happily playing along with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch to get back on my crafty groove. My daughter has a couple of birthday parties coming up over the next couple of weeks so I used this sketch as my inspiration for a birthday card for one of friends.

I LOVE to paper piece and I went a little paper piecing nutty with this card.  It's like dressing a doll.  So much fun!  I used this adorable digi image by Whimsy & Stars Studio called Molly's Cupcake.  I added some stickles to the cupcake's frosting using a paint brush in a dabbing motion to give it added texture.  I added a PTI raspberry fizz button with some May Arts brown string after coloring the rest of the image with copics.   That pretty paper is from the Echo Park Paper Country Drive paper pad.

AND I just wanted to share a few pics from our vacation!  This year we tried a new and more difficult hike now that the kids are older (Lauren is 9 and Jack is 7).  The kids and our four legged family member Calvin did fine.  My husband I thought we were going to need oxygen, but just before we collapsed, we made it to the Champney Falls.  Whew!

And here are a few pics from Jackson Falls which one our favorite places to hang out when we are in the White Mountains.  The sound of the rushing water is as beautiful as the sights!

Anniversary Celebration

My husband and I will be celebrating our 11th Anniversary and we will be spending it in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with our two children.  We love it up there in the Mountains and we look forward to this time of year so much when we can escape together to take in all the beauty of that area with hikes to waterfalls and swims in the lake.  It only seemed fitting to create a bear themed card in honor of the bears we see each time we are up there!

There is a sale going on at Teddy Bo  (buy 3 images and get one free) so I ordered some, of course!  I just love them!  This cutie is from the Teddy Bea line at Teddy Bo.  I paper pieced the umbrella, boots, and hat and added some shading to the boots and hat with my copics.

Kim O'Connell (that's me!)
Misti Oblander (our August Guest Designer)

I've introduced to 3 out of the 5 new Paper and Such Stamp sets over the past few days and now I can introduce to "Mimi  and Jabster" from the Hot Shot Line!  This set comes with one image and three sentiments.

When I received this stamp set, I immediately had an image in my head of this funny little chicken walking down the street with dog. So I drew the side walk, adhered a picket fence die cut, and added some grass with the MFT Fresh Cut Grass Die-Namics.  I colored the image with copics and cut it out.  Before popping the chicken and dog up with foam dimensionals, I used a paper piercer and thread one end of the baker's twine through the chicken image and wrapped the other end around the dog's neck.  Complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.

All 5 new stamp sets are on sale NOW in the Paper and Such Store!  Be sure to head on over and check out the new stamp sets as well as the other stamps, new paper pads from Echo Park and My Mind's Eye, and baker's twine from the Twinery is all sorts of colors   Happy shopping!

Paper and Such Poppies

Today I have the pleasure of showing you a card I've made from the soon to be released "Poppies" stamp set by Paper and Such!  It will be available for purchase tomorrow in the Paper and Such Store, but you have a chance of winning this gorgeous set simply by leaving a comment here on my blog!  PLUS, you can increase your chances of winning by leaving a comment on my fellow DT members' blogs!  Links are below!

This set comes with one image and 5 sentiments.  Here's a sneak peek!

Aren't those poppies so pretty?!  I decided to do the "out of the box" technique so that one of the poppies could creep outside the oval panel.  You can find a great tutorial on this technique HERE.  If you are a frequent visitor to my blog, you know I love to color with my copics and this image was so fun to color!  Here are the copics I used:

I added a thin outline around the image in BG10 to make it pop off the white a bit more.

Don't forget to leave me a comment to qualify for a chance to win this set!  Increase your chances by commenting on my DT members' blog, too!  All 5 of the new releases go on sale tomorrow in the Paper and Such Store!  Now off you go to see what the other DT members have done and be sure leave a comment!  Winners will be posted on August 10th!
