KKS148 - Lana in the Spotlight

We've got a fun challenge for you to for this week on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog!
All you need to do is ink up your favorite Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and create something with it!  The hardest part will be picking your favorite! How do you choose?!

To make the decision less daunting, I decided to choose from the stash of stamps that I have yet to ink up.  I have acquired quite a few since joining the DT so I had a nice stash from which to choose.

I ended up choosing Moonlight Whispers Lana!

Lana deserves a spotlight........so I drew one for her.  I am kind of loving the way this turned out!  I though that black/white solid/dot edge wired ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel was the perfect touch!   I used Bazzill Card Shoppe licorice twist and marshmallow CS.

skin- Ei1, E00, E000
cheeks - R20, R30
eyeshadow- BV23, BV20 , clear star gelly roll pen
lips - R59, R29
eyes - B41
Clothing and spotlight - C9, C9, C5, C3,C2, C1, C00

Now head on over to the Kraftin Kimmie Blog to see what my fellow Krafty girls have created this week!  Be sure to pay attention to what Krafty Girl Sheri Willshire has created because the images she used will be the prize for this week's challenge!
You do not need to use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp to participate, but you will only be eligible for the prize if you do!

Tutorial - Test Tube Candy Treat Box Holder

Halloween will be here before you know it!
I wanted to share with you a quick tutorial on making cute Test Tube Treat Box holders!

First, download and print THIS TEMPLATE on the card stock color of your choice.
I am using Bazzill Card Shoppe circus peanuts card stock.

Cut it out and score.
Use a 1" circle punch to punch out the opening of the treat box.

Add a strip of 1 1/8" x 4 1/2" strip of patterned paper of your choice and mat it.
I am using paper from the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor and Bazzill Card Shoppe licorice twist.

Now flip it over and add three more panels of matted patterned paper.
You will need two 1 1/4" x 2 1/8" panels and one 1 1/4" x 2 1/8" panel.
Add red line tape as shown below.

Flip it back over again.  Fold upwards and adhere there the panels together.
Add red line tape as shown below.

Finish folding making sure your panels with the pattern paper are showing on the sides.

Now you are ready to decorate!
I inked up the There She Goes Clear Stamps Hauntingly Delightful stamp set.

I colored the ghost with copics (C3, C1, C00,YR18, YR16, YR15), cut him out and adhered him to the front of the treat holder.  I used the PTI Tiny Tags die  to cut out a tag.  I stamped the sentiment on it and tied it on to the test tube filled with orange Skittles  with some 1/8" black and orange solid stitched center ribbon and some black licorice Divine Twine from the Ribbon Carousel.

You can by the test tubes HERE and the corks HERE.

Now head on over to the There She Goes Blog some of my fellow Trendsetters have also done some treat box tutorial!

Ribbon Carousel and Helmar Blog Hop

Today the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the designers from Helmar to bring you a blog hop jam packed with crafty goodness!   We carry many Helmar products in the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  They are our go-to-company for adhesives!

Helmar USA Inc began in late 2009 initially setup to distribute Helmar branded product manufactured by Helmar Australia and to better service and expand our existing US customer base. It was located in San Diego, California. Whilst the business grew steadily and slowly it wasn't the ideal location for our business to continue to grow.
2012 has seen some major changes already this year for Helmar USA Inc. and those positive changes will continue. In the interests of moving forward and enabling the business to grow from strength to strength, relocation and a change in ownership became inevitable.
In June 2012 Helmar USA Inc. was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now with a much larger warehouse to allow for future expansion and also located close to major transport links, supply to our customers and business growth will be much more efficient.
Another major postive change we have made is to expand our design team. Headed by Erika Taylor the changes implemented so far have been refreshing and inspiring. The range of product education & projects available through various media is outstanding. We truly have very talented group of designers and are so excited to be working with some of the best companies as preferred partners, in the industry.

I paired some DP from the Doodlebug Design Haunted Manor 6x6 paper pad with some Bazzill Card Shoppe peanut cluster, marshmallow, and licorice twist CS.   I used the MFT Die-Namics oval STAX and then added some black net ribbon, some black solid grosgrain ribbon a button, and some Halloween twine which I adhered using the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.  I colored this cute image from the the Sweet November Boo's Fun stamp set with copics, cut it out and popped it up with the Helmar Zap dots.

pumpkin:  YR18, YR16, YR15, YR12, E37, E35, E33
ghost - C5, C3, C1, colorless blender

Now, lets talk prizes!

Hop along with us today and leave some blog love for our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates and the Helmar designers to be eligible to win one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!

The Helmar prize is a complete pack of Zapdots (12 packs) including clear, black and white in circles and squares, in both the large and small sizes!

KKS147 - Fall Colors

Guess which Krafty Girl is the hostess with the mostess this week
over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog for this week's challenge?

It's  MEEEEEEEE!

Today officially marks the first day of Fall.  Yep.  Summer is over, peeps. (Pass the tissues).
One thing I do love about the Fall is the warm, earthy colors.  So, there's your challenge for the week.  Create something using fall colors.

I decided to ink up this adorable image and sentiment from the Lulu and Friends stamp set.

I colored the image with copics and cut her out using the MFT Die-namics oval STAX sets 1 and 2.  I  paired some Bazzill Card Shoppe peanut cluster and candy bar CS with some DP from the Simple Stories Harvest Lane 6x6 paper pad.  I added some gorgeous brown silky crushed ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.  I colored the pearls with a copic so they would match the ribbon.

Now head right on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog to see what my fellow Krafty Girls have done with this week's challenge. Since I am  our hostess with the mostess this week, the image that I used on my card will be this week's prize!  Remember, you don'tneed to use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp to play along with the challenge, but you DO to be eligible for the prize!
