Simon Says Stamp "Cold Hands, Warm Heart" Blog Hop

I am OH SO EXCITED to be participating in the Simon Says Stamp "Warm Hands, Cold Heart" blog hop today!   What an honor to have been asked by Heidi Crowl, owner of Simon Says Stamp, to participate and to be designing alongside a group of ridiculously talented women to show off the newest Simon Says Stamp release!

I've created a couple of cards today with several products from the "Cold Hands, Warm Heart" collection for the hop, but keep checking back because there will be more to come!   I just love this collection!

When I received my stash of crafty goodness from Heidi, I literally laughed out loud when I saw the stamp set that I am featuring in this first card!  OMG!  Genius!

Introducing Ugly Sweater!

Ugly Christmas sweater parties are all the rage these days!  So funny, right?!   Notice the stitched edging?  I created that by die cutting my CS with the largest die from the new "Bundle of Stitches" die set.   I paired some MFT gumdrop green, smooth white, black licorice and red hot CS.   I used the MFT Die-Namics Circle STAX to create the circular panel.   I stamped the little snowflake on from the "Ugly Sweater" stamp set in VersaMark ink onto the red hot CS panel and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment in MFT red hot and black licorice ink.

To create my ugly sweater, I stamped the image in MFT black licorice ink and colored it with copics (R59, R29, R2, R05, YG67, YG63, and YG61).  I then damped a dishtowel with some colorless blender and pressed it over the image to give the sweater a textured look.   Next, I stamped the little snowflake again in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped the Santa and colored him with copics.  I used a white gel pen to add the freckles to his cheek.  I fussy cut him out and adhered him into the sweater.

Next up is a card I created featuring the new "Winter Warmth" stamp set!

All the stitching you see on the card was done using dies from the new "Bundle of Stitches" die set.   I will be reaching for this die set over and over!   I used the new "Flower Pattern Stencil"  and the MFT whip cream ink pad to gently sponge on the subtle pattern on the kraft CS.

I stamped the mug in MFT black licorice ink and colored it with copics.  I stamped the little snowflake from the "Winter Warmth" stamp set in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next, I stamped the mittens and colored them with copics (R59, R29, R24, R05, E43, and E41).  I then stamped the heart in VersMark ink and again heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them on top of the mug.  I stamped the sentiment in MFT hot fudge ink.

Ready to hop?!

Make you you stop and leave a little blog love on each of the designers blogs not only because you don;t want to miss an ounce of crafty inspiration but also because.........
