SPDSS25 - Enjoy Your Trip

Calling all sketchoholics!   There's a new SugarSketch ready for you to tackle and as always, there's a SugarPea Designs gift certificate up for grabs for one lucky participant!

I played along with the SugarPea Designs Going Places stamp set.

I chose some patterned paper from the Simple Stories Urban Traveler 6x6 paper pad. I used dies from the SugarCuts - Gift Tag to create the pierced banners and the little heart.

I colored my image with copics.  I stamped my image again onto the "map" patterned paper and then paper pieced that onto her map.

Here is the sketch:

The rules are very simple…
  • Create a new card or project using the SugarSketch provided.  SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)
  • You may rotate/flip the sketch & replace shapes – so long as the original sketch layout is recognizable.
  • Upload to the SugarPea Designs blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: SPDSS25 so that we may check out your beautiful work.
  • Add your name and link to your project in the InLinkz in the SugarPea Designs blog
  • One randomly selected winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs Online Shoppe. However, if the winning entry features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the prize to $15

Now head on over to the SugarPea Designs blog for a list of designers who have  card to share for some crafty inspiration before you tackle the sketch yourself and play along!

SPD15- Wherever You Go....

It's an Anything Goes Challenge this month on the SugarPea Designs blog so tehre's no reason not to play along!  Ink up anything your heart desires and play along with us!

Here's my card:

I kept it CAS this time.   I decided I wanted to make this cute owl from from the Classroom Cupids stamp set the main attraction of my card.  I used some distress inks to create the background for him.

I colored the eyes, beak, and heart with copics and used a black General's pastel pencil the deepen the shading.  I added glossy accents once I finished coloring.   I heat embossed the sentiment from the Going Places stamp set.  I used the banner die  from the SugarCuts - Gift Tag to layer under the sentiment and I used the negative die cuts I created with the SugarCuts - Heart Border to create the little hearts which I also covered with glossy accents.

We only have a few rules…
  • Play along with ANY stamp you’d like – Winner is chosen at random to keep things fair, but if the winners project features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the voucher to $15
  • Feel free to combine our challenge with any other challenge(s)
  • Upload to your blog or other online gallery using keyword: SPD15 so we can easily find your work.
  • Add your name and link to your card or project in the InLinkz on the SugarPea Designs Blog

Beary Thankful

It seems I never create anything anymore unless I am knocking something off my list of design team work.   I tend to restrict myself to that to keep this little hobby of mine in check and in balance with work and family life.  However, I recently peeked at the Whimsie Doodles website and fell in love with the sweet Garden Bear.  So, I got all wild and crazy in true paper crafting nerd style and spend my Friday night creating a card with that image.

I started by die cutting that panel with the Simon Says Stamp "Thanks Card" wafer die.  I sponged on some distress inks.   I used the largest die from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to create the stitched border on the white panel.

I colored my image with copics and used a a white gel pen to add the polka dots to the ribbon her hat an on the heart on the watering can.  I added a gold sequin to the sunflower for a little embellishment.

I am entering this card in the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #89 (use a die cut) and the Whimsie Doodles April Challenge

Rock On

I am big fan of the "A Random Fan" line at C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps!
I've been collecting the images and today I colored op the spunky "Rock Princess."

I sponged some white pigment ink through the C.C. Designs Boy Doodles Stencil onto some vellum and then sprinkled with clear embossing powder to heat emboss.  The sentiment is from the C.C. Designs Hashtag Sentiments stamp set.  I added some pink rhinestones for some bling.

Here's a close up my coloring.  I stamped the Rock Princess in Momento tuxedo black ink and colored her with copics.   I fussy cut her out and popped her up with foam dots.
