SSS132 - For the Bride

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge!  For the month of October, we have been doing a blast from the past and using some "oldies by goodies" sketches.   Here is my card for this week's challenge:

I had yet to ink up this so sweet Taylored Expressions Moka Charlotte so today is the day! I colored her with copics and added some glitter to her dress, veil, and tiara.   I used the MFT Die-Namics rolled flower and fancy flourish.  The leaves are from the PTI Beautiful Blooms II stamp set.  The DSP is by American Crafts and the CS is PTI black and white and SU cherry cobbler.

RCC26 - BOO and TPE122

This is my 2nd post of the day so if you are here for the Paper and Such Challenge, click HERE!




Today is my last day as the Guest Designer at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog.  I had a blast playing along with the talented designers over there!  Thanks again to Corinna McGreggor for inviting me to be a guest designer for the month of October.  It was an honor!  Now on to this week's challenge! 

 This week, around the globe, people are celebrating Halloween! A favorite, hauntingly delightful holiday, Halloween inspires lots of different images! Ashley is challenging us to make anything that is Inspired by Halloween for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (RCC26). It could be a costume, card, decoration, etc.

Here is my card:

I used The Pink Elephant Sketch Challenge #122 as my inspiration.  I decided to use a couple of cute digi by Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Halloween Brat Witch and Halloween Bench.  I colored them up with my copics and then matted the image in PTI black and orange zest card stock.  I stamped the orange zest panel with a stamp from the PTI Polka Dot Basics stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added a few small black rhinestones to embellish.  Then I dug into my stash of goodies from the Ribbon Carousel and used some oh so pretty satin grosgrain double band ribbon in celery and plum satin, some 5/8" black sheer ruffled edge ribbon, and some Halloween Divine twine.  A PTI orange zest button completes the design!

Paper and Such Challenge - Sketch

It's time for another Paper and Such Challenge and this time it is my favorite kind - a sketch challenge!  Here's my card:

I started with a PTI kraft card base.  For the image panel, I cut piece of card stock into a curved shape and used it as a mask before stamping the text from the PTI Background Basics: Text Style in Momento Tuxedo Back ink.  I then stamped the Paper and Such Poppies onto the image panel.  I stamped it again on another piece of paper, colored and cut the flowers out, and then adhered them to the original image panel.  I colored the image with copics (R59, R29,R24, R05, R02, YG97, YG95, YG93).   I ran that PTI ripe avacado CS through my Big Shot with the PTI Book Print Impression Plate. I matted eith PTI black CS and then added some Ribbon Carousel natural jute / twine and some black rhinestones for embellishments.

SSS131 - Hope Fights

Happy weekend!  It is time for another Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge!  In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the DT made some "pink" creations with this week's sketch.  Here is mine:

That cute image and sentiment are from the "Hope Fights Skirt" digital image by Whimsie Doodles.  It only costs $2.00 and ALL PROCEEDS ARE DONATED TO CANCER RESEARCH!   There are other adorable images related to cancer available on the Whimsie Doodles website HERE and HERE!  

I used some pretty DSP from the Echo Park Country Drive paper pad and paired it with PTI vintage cream and raspberry fizz CS.  I paper pieced her skirt and bandana.  I used the SU XL fancy flower punch, a 1.5" circle punch, and a 1.25" circle punch to make the tag.  I attached it to the PTI raspberry fizz grosgrain ribbon bow with some twine.

FMS7 - Birthday Wishes

I just loved the newest sketch for this week's challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches the minute I saw it.  Finally had a chance to play along tonight. 

Yep, another wild Friday night for me.  ;)

I used PTI dark chocolate, pure poppy, and white CS.  No idea what the DSP is.....just a piece of scrap in my stash.  I used the SU eyelet border punch for the white borders.  The sentiment is from the Verve Wishful Elegance stamp set and those pretty flowers are from the Verve Sunny Days stamp set.  I colored them with copics (R29, R24, R05, YR18, YR15, YR12).  I added some PTI dark chocolate buttons to the flowers and popped up the middle flower with a foam dimensional and added some natural jute / twine from the Ribbon Carousel.

"Tis the Season" Gift card holders

Every year I make a huge stash of gift card holders to sell at crafts fairs during the Holidays.  They are always a good seller.  You can find my tutorial HERE.  I have a stash all ready to be decorated and I finally started that process tonight.  Here is the first one I've made this season:

I used the cute little penguin from the Whimsie Doodles "Tis the Season Tags" digi stamp set and colored him with copics.  I cut him out with a Nesties circle and layer the image onto a Nesties scalloped circle.  The base of the gift card hold is pTI pure popy card stock.  The DSP is from the Echo Park Season's Greetings 6x6 paper pad.  That pretty ribbon is 5/8" celery satin grosgrain double band ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

RCC25 - "Picture This"

It's time for another challenge over at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog  and I have the honor of being the Guest Designer this month!  Laurel is using this gorgeous photo from Shelley B Home and Holiday to inspire our creations for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (RCC25).

Here what I was inspired to make by this pretty little picture:

I used the Whimsie Doodles Witchy Girl image and colored her up with copics.  I matted the image with some PTI orange zest and black CS.  I hand drew that big 'ol spider web in black and then went over the lines with a clear star Gelly Roll pen to give it a bit of shimmer.  It didn't photograph well, but it looks cool in person.  I used some of the Ribbon Carousel's black 5/8" sheer ruffled edge ribbon to embellish, of course!

SSS130 and CR84FN40 - Nuts about You

Happy weekend!  It's time for another Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge!  I decided to use a brand spankin' new image called

"Nuts about You" by Whimsie Doodles.

Isn't she so sweet?!  I colored her up with copics and popped up the top of one of the acorns with a foam dimensional.  That pretty DSP is from the Echo Park Seasons's Greetings paper pad.  I paper pieced her dress and the ribbons around her shoes and added some frosted lace Stickles to her wings.   Some maraschino baker's twine and PTI dark chocolate buttons  for embellies completes the card.  Oh, and I popped up th sentiment with foam dimensionals as well.

I had to whip up a Birthday card tonight for a co-worker so I used the MFTWSC41 sketch challenge for some inspiration.

RCC24 - "Sparkle" with Sparkle

I inked up the "Birthday Fairy" stamp by Lilly of the Valley and colored the image with Copics before going nuts with a clear Spica pen to add some shimmer and and then accented the image with some clear and lavender rhinestones for extra sparkle.  I LOVE that May Arts purple satin pleated ribbon!  I paired the image with some DSP from the PTI polka dot parade paper pad and some PTI hibiscus burst and plum pudding CS.

Paper and Such Color Challenge

It's time for another Paper and Such challenge and this time we are doing a color challenge!  I admittedly struggle with color challenges, but this came together relatively painlessly for me.  I decided to make a gift tag rather than a card using the newly released Paper and Such Christmas Flowers stamp set.  

I stamped the flower twice on some PTI scarlet jewel CS and then cut out the top layer of petals and mounted it with a foam dimensional. I shaded the the petals a bit with a Copic marker in R59 and colored the center with YR12 and YR15.  I colored the leaves with YG97, YG95, and YG93.  I sponged some SU chocolate chip ink around the edge of the PTI kraft tag that I cut out using the PTI Tag Sale #1 die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Paper and Such Christmas Flowers set, sponged the edges and then mounted that on PTI fine linen CS.  A PTI scarlet jewel button with twine and dark chocolate twill ribbon completes the tag.

Whimsie Doodles Monthly Challenge - Think Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and so for this month's Whimsie Doodles challenge, we have a "Think Pink" theme for you.  Though you can use any image you want, there are some really great digis in the Whimsie Doodles store  that fit this theme perfectly and all proceeds from those images are donated to breast cancer research.

Paper and Such Release Day and Blog Hop!

After days of sneak peeks, it is finally release day over at the Paper and Such Store!   Before you head over, I have one more card to show you using the new Friendship Sentiments set that cost only $5! There are 2 other sentiments in the set, but I chose this one......

I started with a PTI black CS base.  I layered some DSP from the Echo Park "For the Record" paper pack.  I distressed the edges and sponged with PTI chai ink. I sponged some Tim Holtz antique linen Distress Ink around the sentiment panel while it was still in the nesties.   I added some May Arts 1" olive grosgrain looped edge ribbon as well as some PTI rustic cream button twine.  I used the MFT Die-Namics pretty posies to make that pretty flower.  I sponged the PTI aqua mist CS with SU sage shadow ink.

Paper and Such Sneak Peek - Christmas Flowers

Today I get to give you a sneak peek of one of the soon to be released Paper and Such stamp sets called Christmas Flowers. When I say soon, I mean TOMORROW so you won't have long to wait until you can order it!  This set will come in handy for the Holidays, not only for card making, but for gift tag making!  I started with a card to show off the set, but I can guarantee I will be making some tags with these poinsettias, too!  This set comes with one image (though the one has 2 poinsettias) and 3 sentiments. It will be priced at $12.

Gorgeous, right?!?!  I colored them up with copics.  I stamped the image again and cut out the top layer of flowers on one of the poinsettias so I could pop it up with foam dimensionals.  I paired it with some glittery DSP is by DCWV Homemade Christmas stack.
